A mobility data analyst turns trip, fleet and usage data from shared bikes, e-scooters and public buses into findings that help cities and operators decide where vehicles, routes and stations should go. The work sits between data analysis and urban transport, so the analyst needs to understand both the numbers and how people actually travel.
Most people reach this work through a degree in statistics, data science, engineering or economics, then build transport and mapping skills on the job or through short courses. Because the title is still niche in India, many analysts start in general data analyst roles at shared mobility firms, transport agencies or urban mobility consultancies.
