Best BBA Colleges in Mumbai 2026-27: Fees, Cut-offs & Placements

The best BBA college in Mumbai depends on your budget, your entrance score and your career goal. For 2026-27, the colleges most often compared are NMIMS Mumbai, St Xavier's College, Jai Hind College, HR College and KC College. Admission usually runs through the MAH BBA/BMS CET and CAP counselling, but some colleges use their own test or Class 12 marks.

This guide sets out what we could verify, what is still unconfirmed, and how to compare colleges without getting lost in conflicting numbers. If you want a wider view of the city first, read our guide to the best Mumbai colleges and universities. Fees and placements below come from college-listing sites and aggregators unless we say otherwise, so always confirm them on the college website before you pay.

How we ranked these colleges

This is a provisional list, not an official ranking. We ordered colleges by the placement figures on aggregator sites, highest first, and included a college only where at least one of fee, cut-off or placement data was available. We also marked every gap instead of filling it with guesses.

Placement numbers on aggregator sites often differ from a college's own placement report. Use them as a rough guide, and ask the college for its official figures. We will update this list as verified data comes in.

Best BBA Colleges in Mumbai 2026-27: College by College

St Xavier's College

  • Fee: About ₹2 lakh, according to Collegedunia. The source does not say whether this is per year or for the full course, so check before you compare.
  • Cut-off: We could not confirm a 2026-27 cut-off. Check the college's merit list.
  • Placement: ₹7 LPA, the highest figure cited by Collegedunia. Other listings show lower numbers, so ask the college for its placement report by batch.

NMIMS Mumbai

  • Fee: About ₹4 lakh a year, or about ₹12 lakh for the three-year programme, per a Collegedunia page updated in October 2026. Older listings show ₹3.25 to ₹5.25 lakh a year, so confirm on NMIMS's official fee page.
  • Cut-off: Entry is through the NPAT. Collegedunia projects a closing score of 87 to 102 out of 120, based on 2025 trends. This is a projection, not an official cut-off.
  • Placement: About ₹6 LPA in Collegedunia's list of top private colleges.

HR College

  • Fee: Not verified for 2026-27.
  • Cut-off: Not verified. Check the college's merit list.
  • Placement: ₹4 to ₹6 LPA, according to IPM Career. Treat this as an estimate.

Jai Hind College

  • Fee: About ₹2.9 lakh, per Collegedunia. The period is not confirmed.
  • Cut-off: Sources disagree. Shiksha lists a 98+ percentile, while other sites list 80 to 85% and 88 to 92%. These are different measures, so do not compare them directly (see the cut-off section below).
  • Placement: About ₹5 LPA, per Collegedunia.

NM College

  • Fee: Not verified.
  • Cut-off: Not verified.
  • Placement: ₹3 to ₹5 LPA, per IPM Career.

Mithibai College

  • Fee: Our sources list Mithibai for BMS, not BBA. Collegedunia gives a three-year total of ₹2.28 lakh, and a 2026-27 fee structure of ₹2.81 lakh total. Confirm which figure applies.
  • Cut-off: Check the college's merit list.
  • Placement: Not verified.
  • Before you apply: Check whether Mithibai has BBA seats at all.

KC College

  • Fee: Not verified.
  • Cut-off: Collegedunia lists KC as admitting on Class 12 merit, so you may not need an entrance score. Confirm this with the college.
  • Placement: Not verified.
  • Status: One source labels KC as government-aided, and other listings disagree. Check the college's own website or its AICTE, UGC or NAAC pages.

Government vs private colleges: fee comparison

Collegedunia counts 132 BBA and BMS colleges in Mumbai. Of these, 105 are private and 23 are government or aided. The table below compares the figures we could find. Aggregator numbers are not always comparable, so read the gaps as a guide.

CategoryFee figure we foundTotal for 3 yearsSource
Mumbai University BBA (affiliated colleges)₹1,27,395 to ₹4,29,153 total tuition range₹1.27 lakh to ₹4.29 lakhBuddy4Study (not an official fee notice)
Private: NMIMS MumbaiAbout ₹4 lakh a yearAbout ₹12 lakhCollegedunia, October 2026
Other colleges: St Xavier's and Jai HindAbout ₹2 lakh and ₹2.9 lakh (period unclear)Not confirmedCollegedunia

Government and MU-affiliated colleges generally cost less than NMIMS, but the fee is only one part of the decision. College status is also listed inconsistently across sites, so check it on the college's own website.

Entrance exams you need

  • MAH BBA/BMS CET: The state test used for many Mumbai BBA seats through CAP. The official 2026-27 notice covered BBA, BMS, BBM, BCA and BHMCT, and made APAAR and Aadhaar IDs mandatory. Third-party sources describe an online, 90-minute test with 100 MCQs on English, reasoning, general knowledge and computer basics. Confirm this in the official brochure.
  • NPAT: NMIMS uses its own test. Check NMIMS's official notice for 2027 dates, which we have not yet confirmed.
  • Class 12 merit: Some colleges admit students on marks, such as KC College according to one listing.
  • XET: Some colleges accept XET, so check the college's list of accepted tests.
  • BBA LLB: Shiksha's MU page lists a route at 45% plus MHT-CET Law, with 60 seats. Confirm this with MU.
  • Eligibility: Shiksha's table gives around 50 to 55% in Class 12 aggregate for BBA. Confirm each college's requirement.

A note for MU BMS seats: BMS does not follow the Samarth merit list. Candidates appear for the MAH CET and register for CAP.

The Mumbai University UG portal now shows that registration for UG admission 2026-27 is closed, and that the application window has ended. You can check the MU notices page for revised circulars. Some third-party sites list older last dates, so do not rely on them.

What comes next: Shiksha reports that the 2027-28 CET is tentatively planned for registration in January 2027, the exam in April 2027 and results in June 2027. These dates are not yet confirmed. Read the official CET notice as the reference for how the process works, then watch the CET Cell website for the new notice.

Average fees and placement ranges

  • Placement packages cited: About ₹3 LPA to ₹7 LPA across the colleges above, with St Xavier's the highest at ₹7 LPA. These are aggregator figures.
  • MU BMS, for comparison: Collegedunia gives an average package of ₹3.2 LPA and a highest package of ₹5.5 LPA.
  • Three-year cost: Roughly ₹1.27 lakh to ₹4.29 lakh for MU BBA tuition, and about ₹12 lakh for NMIMS Mumbai.
  • Refunds: Shiksha's table says that if you withdraw within 20 days of the term start, 20% is deducted, rising to 100% after 30 September. Some fee items are non-refundable. Check the rule against the MU ordinance and your college's policy. A Somaiya cancellation policy document cites the ordinance, but it is a college document, not an MU page.

Cut-offs explained: percentile vs percentage

Many listings mix two numbers that do not compare: the percentile from an entrance test and the percentage from Class 12. A 98 percentile in an entrance test is not the same as 98% in your boards. Keep the two apart when you compare colleges.

MU does not have a consolidated cut-off page that we could confirm. Use the merit lists the college publishes, and treat third-party cut-off tables as approximate. For NMIMS, the 87 to 102 out of 120 range is an estimate from 2025 trends, so wait for the official cut-off.

How to shortlist the right college for you

  1. Set a budget first. Decide the most you can spend each year, including hostel, travel, books and exam fees.
  2. Check your admission route. Find out whether the college uses the CET, its own test, or Class 12 marks.
  3. Use the official fee page. Compare the college's own fee structure, not aggregator tables.
  4. Ask for a placement report by batch. Ask how many students were placed, the median and highest packages, and which companies recruited.
  5. Look at specialisations. Check whether finance, marketing, analytics or entrepreneurship fits your goals. Our guide to scope for commerce students explains the options.
  6. Plan for commute and living costs. Mumbai travel can take a long time, so factor that into your choice.
  7. Talk to a counsellor. A counsellor can help you read the numbers and match a course to your strengths. If you are still deciding after B.Com, our guide on what to do after B.Com in Mumbai is a useful next read.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the best BBA college in Mumbai without NMIMS-level fees?

There is no single best college, but Mumbai has several lower-fee options. Aggregator lists often name KC, HR, Jai Hind and NM College among them. Mumbai University BBA tuition ranges from ₹1,27,395 to ₹4,29,153 over the course, according to Buddy4Study. Fees change by college and year, so confirm them on each college's official website before you apply.

Is the MAH BBA CET compulsory for Mumbai BBA colleges?

It depends on the college. Many seats are filled through the MAH BBA/BMS CET and CAP counselling. NMIMS uses its own NPAT, some autonomous colleges run their own tests, and some admit students on Class 12 marks. For MU BMS, candidates appear for the CET and register for CAP rather than using the Samarth merit list. Check each college's admission page before you assume.

What is the MAH BBA CET cut-off for Jai Hind, HR, Mithibai and Narsee Monjee?

We could not confirm an official CET cut-off for these colleges. Sources for Jai Hind disagree: one lists a 98+ percentile, others list 80 to 85% or 88 to 92%. Narsee Monjee (NMIMS) uses the NPAT, and Collegedunia projects a closing score of 87 to 102 out of 120, which is an estimate. Check each college's official merit list, and do not compare percentiles with Class 12 percentages.

Can I get BBA admission without an entrance exam?

Some colleges admit students on Class 12 marks alone. Collegedunia lists KC College as one such option. Many colleges also set a minimum aggregate, which Shiksha's table places at around 50 to 55%. Ask the college whether it has a separate merit list, when it opens, and what the minimum marks are for your category.

Is the Mumbai University admission portal open for 2026-27?

No. The MU UG portal shows that registration for UG admission 2026-27 is closed and the application window has ended. Shiksha says MU's 2027-28 admission will open soon. Watch the MU notices page and the official CET notice, and be careful with third-party sites, which list different last dates.

What is the total cost of a 3-year BBA in Mumbai?

It varies a lot. Mumbai University BBA tuition ranges from ₹1,27,395 to ₹4,29,153 over the course, per Buddy4Study, an aggregator. NMIMS Mumbai is listed at about ₹12 lakh for three years on Collegedunia. Add hostel, books, travel and exam fees to get a realistic total. Ask each college for a written fee structure before you decide.

Is there a refund if I cancel my MU admission?

Shiksha's table says that if you withdraw within 20 days of the term start, 20% is deducted, rising to 100% after 30 September. Some fee items may be non-refundable. We did not confirm these rules from an official MU notice, so check the ordinance with the college and the university before you withdraw.

Is BBA LLB possible after Class 12?

Shiksha's MU admission page lists a BBA LLB route that needs 45% plus MHT-CET Law, with 60 seats. Eligibility and seats can change, so confirm this on the MU and college websites. If you are still choosing between management and law, a career counsellor can help you compare the two paths.
