About
Who I Am
I am a career counselor who helps students and working professionals make clear, confident, and future‑ready career decisions in an AI‑driven world. I combine structured assessments, data‑driven insights and practical mentoring to design career paths that fit a person’s strengths, interests and real‑life constraints
What A Career Counsellor Does
A career counselor guides people at every stage of their journey—students choosing subjects or degrees, graduates entering the job market, and professionals considering a change or reentry into work. The core of the role is to help clients understand themselves and the world of work so they can make informed, realistic, and motivating career choices.
How I Work With Students
With students (8th standard to post‑graduation), the focus is on clarity and direction. I assess their interests, abilities, and personality; introduce them to suitable career options; and help them choose subjects, streams, and courses that keep multiple future paths open. Sessions often include psychometric assessments, guided exploration of careers, and a roadmap for academics, projects, internships, and skill building over the next 3–5 years.
How I Work With Working Professionals
With working professionals (1–10+ years of experience), the focus is on alignment, growth, and transition. I review their work history, strengths, and values; clarify what is not working in their current role; and co‑create options such as internal moves, upskilling, role/industry change, or independent paths. This often involves structured career conversations, Strengths‑based reflection, market mapping, and building a practical transition plan that balances ambition and financial realities
My Career Counselling Process
My counseling process follows a structured flow that repeats across clients:
- Clarify the current situation and goals
- Assess strengths, interests, values and constraints
- Explore realistic career options
- Decide direction and priorities
- Build a roadmap and action plan
- Support execution and review
This mirrors best practices in professional career counseling, where counselors gather background information, administer assessments when needed, and co‑design actionable career plans with the client. The goal is not a one‑time "answer" but a process that builds decision‑making skills clients can reuse for future career moves
Tools, Assessments, and Methods I Use
I integrate recognized tools and structured methods commonly used in modern career counseling. These can include interest and aptitude tests, personality inventories, strengths assessments, and values or work‑style questionnaires, depending on the client’s profile and need. Alongside formal tools, I use guided reflection exercises, goal‑setting frameworks, and labor‑market research so clients see both their internal profile and the external opportunity landscape clearly.
Skills And Qualities Behind My Practice
Effective career counsellors blend domain knowledge with human skills. Core competencies include active listening, empathy, structured questioning, and the ability to help clients process emotions around confusion, failure or transition. In parallel, counsellors stay updated on educational options, emerging roles, industry trends and future skills, especially in fast‑moving areas shaped by AI and digital transformation.
Why Career Counselling Matters Now
In India, students and professionals face an overload of choices, intense competition, and rapid technological change—including automation and AI reshaping stable career paths. Career counsellors play an increasingly important role in helping individuals cut through noise, avoid costly misalignment, and build careers that are both employable and meaningful.
Outcomes You Can Expect
By working with me, clients can expect:
- Clearer self‑understanding (strengths, interests, values, working style)
- A shortlist of well‑researched, realistic career options
- A practical roadmap for the next 6–36 months (study, skills, projects, moves)
- Improved confidence in interviews, networking and workplace decisions
These outcomes align with what leading career services and counsellors worldwide target: better‑informed decisions, improved employability, and higher satisfaction with chosen paths.
